Provocative Social Issues: Gender Identity, Activism and Hate Speech
Wednesday, April 05, 2017, 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM EST
Category: Focus Webinars

In our current contentious and uncertain social and political environment, how do Christian Higher Education institutions address controversial issues that may conflict with our core values?   Such as:

  • Requests for recognition and accommodations from transgender students and staff
  • Hate speech, messages and vandalism on campus
  • Increased social activism

In this webinar, our speakers will address the liability and reputational risk arising from these exposures, including the role of Title IX, exemptions for religious tenants, free-speech and the First Amendment, balance of interests, discrimination, harassment and bullying and related insurance issues.   We will discuss potential responses to avoid legal liability as well.
